Pat's poem 'A Touch of the Rose-tinted' was awarded First Prize in The Salopian Poetry Society's Open Poetry Competition, 2008, and her paired poems 'Selective Mutism' and 'Noughts and Crosses' were awarded First Prize in The Society of Medical Writers Summer Competition, 2008.
